Latvia is a country in the Baltic region of Northern Europe. It is bordered by Estonia, Lithuania, Russia, Belarus, and the Baltic Sea. Across the Baltic Sea lies Sweden. The government system is a parliamentary republic; the chief of state is the president, and the head of government is the prime minister. Latvia is known for it’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites that include Riga’s old city centre, unique cuisine like Rupjmaize, medieval towns, and one of the fastest WiFi speeds in the world, Latvia is also famous for its beer, beautiful women, lakes, waterfalls and art nouveau buildings in Riga.

Latvia is essentially an undulating plain, with fairly flat lowlands alternating with hills. The eastern part of the country is more elevated, its most prominent feature being the Central Vidzeme Upland, which reaches a maximum elevation of 1,020 feet (311 metres). We are not only proud of having the widest waterfall in Europe or being the world leader in internet speed, but also for our 50 shades of potato dishes and four extremely diverse seasons.
